The RCVS has accepted an alternate dispute decision (ADR) scheme to assist resolve lower-level shopper complaints about veterinary providers by means of mediation.
Wholly funded by the RCVS and administered by Nockolds Solicitors, the Veterinary Shopper Mediation Service (VCMS) is considered one of two totally different ADR techniques trialled, with the intention of serving to resolve complaints between animal homeowners and veterinary practices that don’t meet its threshold for severe skilled misconduct.
Throughout the trial interval, 165 of the 870 enquiries obtained by the VCMS went to mediation and, of those, 129 have been profitable, with the opposite 36 remaining unresolved.
